La Rioja is a province in Spain and is itself an autonomous region. The capital city of this region is Logrono. It is neither too big a city nor too small a city but it is an attractive one. The population of the city is around 150,000. As the region of La Rioja is very fertile, the city of Logrono is green. It is a neat and green city and the overall atmosphere in the city is refreshing. Logrono has a beautiful location as it is situated on the banks of the Iregua River. There is a stone bridge at the entrance to the city which gives a warm welcome to visitors. There are many historical churches in Logrono.

Some of these include the Santa Maria Cathedral, San Bartolome Church and Santiago El Real Church. The great museums in the city include the Rioja Museum and Casa de las Ciencias. Some of the famous monuments are Puente de Piedra, Parlamento de la Rioka, Puente de Hierro and Muralla de Ravellin. There are many fascinating places in Logrono that should be visited. For example, the Plaza del Mercado which is located in the middle of shopping district. Similarly Plaza del Ayuntamiento should be visited as many events and fairs are hosted here. It is basically a square near the Town Hall in Logrono.

There are many parks in Logrono which are worth visiting. Some of these include the Parque de San Miguel, Parque Del Carmen and Parque Del Ebro. The city of Logrono is ideal for shopping. There are many cloth shops, shoe outlets, restaurants and handicraft shops in the city. Most of the products available on the shops of Logrono are produced by the local industry in the region. The city is also famous for its gastronomy. There are excellent regional as well as international cuisines offered by the restaurants of the city. Usually meat dishes and vegetables are part of the cuisine in the restaurants. The food is fresh as the region is famous for its agriculture produce.
